Visitor on Mother's Day

We were enjoying Mother's Day morning watching a little TV after breakfast and we hear a scratching and knocking sound on the door. We wait a little bit and hear it again, really sounds like someone is trying to force their way into the house. Kirt goes and looks out the peep hole and sees no one. Opens the door and sees this trying to work its way in...
he quickly shut the door and went out another way to capture and release (far from our house) this snapping turtle.

Jason's New Milestones

About a week ago Jason learned to tie his shoes! Now today he asked to have his training wheels taken off. We have tried before, but he really wasn't confident enough then. So we took them off and...

Eglin's 75th Anniversary Air Show

We took the kids and Kirt's brother's family to the Air Show this weekend. They had a really great time and the weather cooperated. Emily and Jason got a bit tired and I took them home about halfway through so they could rest. They were able to sit in a helicopter and Emily went down an inflatable slide before they left.

Swim Lessons Begin

We now have added one more thing to do during the week :) Jason has lessons on Tuesday and Emily has lessons on Wednesday. They really seem to enjoy going and are really learning a lot. So now most of our evenings we are either at the pool for lessons or at the ball park for baseball. Thankfully baseball season is nearly over. What will we do next year when Jason is old enough to play ball too!

Coloring Easter eggs

While subtitute teaching in one of the 2 year old classes, we used this egg spinner to decorate eggs. SO EASY and hardly any MESS!! The kids had a great time tonight decorating the Easter Eggs.

All 12 finished eggs

10 Year Anniversary getaway (a little early)

At our Christmas Party, we won a 2 night stay at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. So while the kids had Spring Break, we sent them down to visit with Grandmas and Grandpas and we used our free stay as an early anniversary gift to eachother. Our anniversary is in May.

The view from our room

Sunset on the Gulf!

We really aren't gamblers so we didn't come home with more money, but we had a really nice time. The kids had a great time too visiting both sets of grandparents during a week without us.

Jason's Easter Egg Hunt

Jason's school had an Easter Egg hunt the last day of class before Spring Break. I think he had a lot of fun!
After the hunt, they all posed with their bunny masks and showed off their eggs. Too cute!! After the hunt, they posed for the picture with the bunny mask.

Opening Day!

Baseball season has officially begun. Emily was able to get a double and 2 singles during the game of the season! Maybe she did remember some of the clinic pointers!

Bedtime Stories

Emily has really started reading pretty well and enjoys reading to Jason. The other night I was able to capture this sweet moment.

Softball Clinic

I know I am a little behind in posting pictures. We have been pretty busy. I have started working at Jason's school as a sub, and lately I have been there a lot. So between working at Jason's school and volunteering at Emily's I am not home a whole lot anymore.

These photos are of Emily at the softball clinic the high school put on for Little League players. They worked on throwing, catching, fielding and batting. I think she had a good time and learned some great techniques, now putting that new knowledge to work is another story :)

Our weekend visit to Tampa

Jason holding Madison with Uncle Andy and Aunt Mary

Jason and I went to Tampa this weekend to see my sister and her new baby. Emily had a softball clinic on Saturday, so she and Daddy had to stay home. Unfortunately it rained and the Clinic was postponed until this Saturday, Ugh!!

Christmas Activities

Jason's class went to the Council on Aging this week to sing Christmas Carols. I was not able to make it, but one of his teachers captured this precious moment. I can only imagine how sweet they all looked.

Squadron Christmas Party

Kirt was able to help us win the first table to go through the line contest. I think it helped a little that we didn't have any more paper :) The object of the game was to see who could wrap thier teammate first. It may have taken them 30 seconds to get this magnificent wrapping job accomplished.

We had a great night with some great friends.

Finally the top tooth has fallen out!

We decided that this tooth had to go! It has been hanging on by a thread for about a month and was starting to change colors. SO...with the help of the

doorknob, it is finally out!! We will have to wait on the other 2 loose ones. Poor thing will be toothless soon:)

Thanksgiving Break

We were going to go out onto the boat with Kirt's parents, but the battery was dead on the boat. (Long Story) So while we were waiting for the final word that we would not be able to go, I was able to get this crane to pose for a picture :)
Helping Grandma make the rolls for Thanksgiving Dinner. The kids had a lot of fun rolling the dough into shape.

Dinner was wonderful and as is tradition in most parts the guys went into the front yard to play football and this year Jason was able to join them (even if it didn't last long).
Then Emily decided to get in on the game... It is nice that Kirt's brother lives not too far from my parent's house and was able to come by with his kids to join in on the fun.
I know I should have posted these pictures earlier, sorry for the delay :0

Lost tooth #3

Still waiting on that top one to finally let go :)
