Santa Monica Beach Trip

With just a few days until the guys come back from their TDY, a few of us decided to head to the beach for some relatively inexpensive fun. It was my first experience on a Pacific Beach (that I can remember), so I went along. The kids had a great time. I just wasn't very prepared (forgot a change of clothes for the kids). I don't know why I thought they wouldn't get in the water.

It was so cute that the little girl in the background just joined in with our kids and had a blast. Amazing how kids, even if they don't speak the same language, will copy each other's actions and just want to play.

Jason decided that the water was too cold to get close to and thought that burying his feet sounded like a better idea. His opinion about the water changed as the day went on and he ended up soaking wet.

Poppy Festival

Jason was ready to pay for the ride with his tickets. Not cheap rides, but what fair has affordable rides anyway.

We decided to go off base this weekend to have some fun. After tossing around ideas of taking a short road trip, we decided that staying local might be the best idea. So, off we went to the Poppy Festival with some of the other families in the class. The kids had a blast riding the rides and seeing the entertainment. Well worth the trip to town!! We were all glad that we went early in the day-- it got pretty crowded after lunch.

While Kirt was at Eglin for the week on a TDY, he was able to look at several houses. Unfortunately we are going to have to wait until we get there to decide on something. Nothing really jumped out at him. The rentals should continue to increase in numbers as time passes. So, we should be able to find something when we get there.

50 Days

Well it is 50 Days until Graduation today, but since the guys are TDY the official party will not be until they return. We decided to have an unofficial party to celebrate the occasion. Hard to believe that once the guys return there will only be 18 flying days left.

A couple of weeks back the guys had the opportunity to fly the MIG and decided, with their Bond theme, they would have their group photo taken with it.

Orders

Well it is official now--we are moving to Eglin and will be there by 30 June. We got orders yesterday. Now we have to get all of the other details of the move worked out...
