Slip N Slide Fun

Thank you Sari and Rotem for the Slip N Slide. It was a big hit with Emily and Daddy. I'm sure Jason will warm up to the idea soon.

He found it much more fun lounging in the end of it.

A day at the beach

We bought an annual pass to the state parks last week, so we can now get into the state parks in FL without paying anything additional (Except at the Homosassa wildlife park). So this morning we decided to check out a different beach side state park, Topsail Hill. The part we went to was pretty nice, very few people but no showers to clean off the sand. We later discovered that there may have been more to the park at a different entrance. Oh well, next time right.

Attempting to build a sand castle. Jason thought demolishing the castle was more fun!

Bug bite

Taken after I came home from the ER

The next morning.

Some of you have already heard about the infamous bug bite that Emily had. Well here are the photos we took. If you haven't heard, Monday morning Emily woke up and said that her leg hurt but then stopped talking about it. As the day progressed, her knee started swelling and becoming very hot to the touch. That night we took her to the ER and they sent us home saying that it was just an ant bite and her body must just react this way to them. The next day we had a school physical appointment scheduled and that doctor said that this was most definately an infection and gave her an antibiotic. The swelling has gone away now and it looks more normal now. Hopefully this was a one time thing for her, we will keep our fingers crossed.

Been Busy

Sorry it's been a while since the last post. We've been a bit busy... Kirt graduated TPS on June 7 and was able to add another masters degree to his resume (the first class to be awarded masters degrees).

Then we spent a couple of days with his parents and brother in Yosemite while they were visiting. Saturday the AC died in our house on base and of course they had to order the parts and it was going to take 2 weeks to fix. Needless to say I was glad I paid someone to clean the house, we did live in the desert and the temps were approaching 100 already. Monday the packers came and then they loaded the truck Tuesday. We were officially out of our house on Thursday. Kirt and I went golfing on Friday, for the first time since before I was pregnant with Emily! Thanks Katie for babysitting. Then Katie was nice enough to host one more party for those of us that were still around on Saturday.

Sunday we went to Big Bear, CA for the day and rode the alpine slide. It was a lot of fun, just too bad we waited so long to go. Monday morning we started the journey across the country with the first stop in Flagstaff, AZ.
The kids were fighting over the Fox, so it helped drive a little bit.

Friday afternoon we arrived at Eglin and met up with my parents who decided to come up to help out with the kids while we looked for a house and got ready to move in. They were an enormous help, thank you Mom and Dad! Unfortunately the movers were not able to deliver our household goods until Tuesday the 8th, so (since the TLF on base was so inadequate) we lived in our house from the 3rd until the 8 with just what we brought with us. The kids slept on sleeping bags and we borrowed an air mattress from the neighbors.

Kirt's parents came up Monday the 7th to help watch the kids while we had our stuff delivered and somewhat unpacked. They were a huge help. I don't think we have ever been able to be nearly finished unpacking in 2 days. Thank you John and Margie!!

Beach trip

This beach trip was cut a little short due to a thunderstorm, but was still fun for everyone.

4th of July

We met up with some of the TPS group at the beach on base to watch the fireworks. We had a really good time. Sure helped make the time pass letting the kids play in the water while we waited for the show to start.
