Finally...

At last, after several weeks of wiggling, Emily's tooth has come out! She was so excited the first day that she realized it was loose. She would talk about it almost constantly. Then today, when it was barely hanging on, she says "maybe we can wait to take it out." I think she thought it was going to hurt because when it did come out, she said "I didn't even feel it come out!" So what does the Tooth Fairy pay nowadays anyway?
I think it may be the highlight of her week! I guess she is growing up and we can't stop it.

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa

While visiting Kirt's parents we decided to try and go out on the boat. As usual, one makes outdoor plans and nature makes plans against you. The forecast for the day was mostly sunny and around 78 for the high. The day ended up being mostly cloudy, windy and maybe got to 70. We went out on the boat anyway and were able to see some magnificent creatures, about 5 different MANATEES!!! The kids unknowingly were attacting them by throwing ropes into the water, the manatees were coming to investigate and went right under the boat, pretty cool to see one in its natural environment and not in some sort of enclosure.

The next day they decided that they would make cookies with Grandma. Who wouldn't like to cut out cookies, ice and then sprinkle with more sugar?

For those that didn't know me then

Many people have told me that they can't imagine that I was really 170+ pounds just a few years ago. Emily was about 7 weeks old in this photo.

Baseball Pre-Season Begins

Emily had her first baseball practice tonight. She was the only girl on the team. She really tried to throw, catch and hit the ball. Which at this point is all we are asking her to do- just try her best and listen to the coaches. We asked her on the way home if she had fun and wanted to go back again and her answer was, "Yes, but I need to practice more." So it looks like we will give it a try and see how the season goes. Opening day is March 7!

Weekend of Parties

We started off the weekend with a kids Valentine's party. As usual, Mrs. H is the most organized, creative, energetic, and brave person I think I have ever met. She has the greatest crafts for the kids to do and she opens up her house to all of the kids in the squadron, as I said a very brave lady! The kids decorated gingerbread houses and painted t-shirts in her living and dining rooms and then went outside to bounce in the bounce house. Do I really need to say it? They had a blast!

Sunday started the preparations for our "small" Super Bowl Party. We had about 35 people here and of those I think there were 15 kids (including our own). I think everyone had a good time.
Thought we would try out a new recipe for the party... homemade soft pretzels. Unfortunately for our waitstlines they were wonderful and not that difficult to make.
