Awesome Halloween Party

Thanks to the H family in the squadron for hosting an awesome party. We were amazed at the time and effort that went into it. The kids had personalized bags to decorate, cookies to decorate, and other Halloween crafts to choose from. There was a bouncy house and a ton of food. We all had a great time. Thanks again to the H family!!!

We forgot the camera in the car, we don't have any pictures :(

Family Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We decided that since the kids had so much fun going to the pumpkin patch with their schools that we would go as a family. Not quite the same as going into the farmer's fields in Ohio, but as good as you can get in Florida. The kids were happy to pick out some small pumpkins and for some reason they were stuck on picking ones that look like oranges. They had a lot of fun picking just the right one. Then back home to play!!

Just had to capture this photo!!

Kirt Got HIS Scooter

Well the Fed Ex truck came through for Kirt yesterday, his scooter was delivered!! Just like a little kid he couldn't wait to test it out. After dinner last night he opened the box and just had to take it for a test ride. It is definately a lot bigger than the Razor scooters that the kids and I have. This should make for some fun family adventures through the neighborhood. As requested by a good friend I also took some video of this first ride.

Jason's class trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Jason had his first field trip yesterday!! His class visited the Pumpkin Patch that is set up at the church up the road from his school. They were read a story,

then did a short exercise (find a pumkin that is as big around as the length of string),

and last an easy craft. The kids had a really good time looking at how different the pumpkins looked.

Mommy got a scooter!

The kids have gotten scooters as an early Christmas gift from the grandparents. They love riding them, but we discovered that they can move much to fast for us to keep up with them while walking. Daddy wants to get a scooter so that we can go with the kids more than just on our street, but we had some trouble finding one that is big enough. So... I think the push started to get Mommy one so I would be persuaded to get him one. Now I can go out with the kids and have races up and down the street. I will have to admit it is pretty fun, and good exercise too!

Gotta love Flight Medicine Docs

I just have to say that sometimes doctors just don't think about how what they say can come across to a patient. Went to Flight Medicine yesterday for a doctor appointment and as we were talking about why I was there, she said that she wanted to get a routine cholesterol screen and they like to get one every 5 years. I had no problem with that. Then she says "you're not terribly overweight, so it should come back normal." Terribly overweight??? I thought I was doing pretty good. And this was a female who was testing the seams in the flight suit. So I just think they don't think about the way they say things.

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Kirt's parents came up for a short visit and we had a great time. We visited the local State Park that we had not gotten around to visiting yet. It was very nice with a decent playground and a short nature trail. We may go back in the future and rent a kayak or canoe to paddle on the bayou.
We were also able to enjoy the sights of these "little shanties" along the water's edge. Maybe one day...

God Bless America

Each day Jason goes to school, they say the Pledge and then sing "God Bless America." I have been trying to get it on film, because he does it so well. Here is the best I could get out of him this morning...
