Soon to be referred to as the younger brother
Well, I was curious tonight and decided to measure the kids. Couldn't find the tape measure so I used the growth chart that came with the Thomas Trains (not too sure on the accuracy). Looks like Jason may soon have to be referred as Emily's younger brother. She was 39 3/4 inches and he was 36 3/4 inches (according to the Thomas chart) . Seems like two years would give them a larger spread, wouldn't you think?
Latest Assignment Rumor
Kirt said he was told that we should know February 1 where we are headed next. He was also told that until he is at his next job and they are welcoming him at his new desk, nothing is final. So there are rumors floating around with different assignment possiblities and jobs that they weren't told about previously. We should know soon. We hope.

Visitor at the park
It seems that lately there has been a coyote at the park everytime we go. They don't seem to bother us, so we don't mess with them. It was neat when we first moved here to see one, but now we see them so often it's not a big deal anymore. I have heard there is at least one bobcat in the neighborhood. We haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure is just a matter of time. One of the neighbors said the bobcat was just curled up on their front porch.

3 Day weekend!
Here we are with another 3 day weekend and no plans to do anything. Kirt is enjoying some time on the golf course this afternoon with some guys in the class. I am trying to get the kids down for a nap, which isn't working. He will go into the office sometime on Monday to get some things done, so that leaves us trying to make plans for tomorrow. I'm sure we will think of something. Earlier we had the kids out for a bike ride and to the park, we may do a repeat of that. Not much to do on a weekend here on the base.

Assignments Update
Kirt was told yesterday that we should know by mid February where we are headed next. We are hoping to move somewhere else, but have also prepared ourselves if we stay. We will keep you posted once we know.
Its hard to believe that it will be 100 days to graduation in just over a month!!!

Road Rally
We are in the final stages of planning a road rally for the junior class. It is basically an event where we plan a scavenger hunt that they will complete in their vehicles and finish with a luncheon. This is our second event that Kirt and I have put together and thankfully we will just have to offer help for the future events. We will post pictures when it is finished. Just thought I would update you on what we have been doing this week.

Flying over the Snow Capped Mountains
Kirt got to fly over some of the nearby mountains that have recently gotten some snow. Not sure on the totals, but one of the nearby ski resorts reported 2 feet of snow during the storms this past weekend. He was able to take some pictures and video while he was in the air. I will have to admit the mountains are very pretty to see right now. I wonder how long it will last!

As many of you are wondering, we have not gotten our next assignment yet. We now have been told that it has been narrowed down to 3 places--Robins AFB, GA, Eglin, FL, or stay right where we are now. We will have to wait for now, but we might know in the next month or so. We will definately keep everyone posted once we know.
