Finally the top tooth has fallen out!

We decided that this tooth had to go! It has been hanging on by a thread for about a month and was starting to change colors. SO...with the help of the

doorknob, it is finally out!! We will have to wait on the other 2 loose ones. Poor thing will be toothless soon:)

Thanksgiving Break

We were going to go out onto the boat with Kirt's parents, but the battery was dead on the boat. (Long Story) So while we were waiting for the final word that we would not be able to go, I was able to get this crane to pose for a picture :)
Helping Grandma make the rolls for Thanksgiving Dinner. The kids had a lot of fun rolling the dough into shape.

Dinner was wonderful and as is tradition in most parts the guys went into the front yard to play football and this year Jason was able to join them (even if it didn't last long).
Then Emily decided to get in on the game... It is nice that Kirt's brother lives not too far from my parent's house and was able to come by with his kids to join in on the fun.
I know I should have posted these pictures earlier, sorry for the delay :0

Day of Thanksgiving productions

Emily had her Thanksgiving program at school in the morning. The first grade put on a play about the first Thanksgiving. Later that morning, Jason's class had a field trip to the Council on Aging to sing some Thanksgiving songs to some of the senior citizens in the community. A busy morning for Mommy, but a fun day for them.

Pioneer Days

One of the local State Parks does an annual event they call "Pioneer Days". They have various stations set up that help show what life was like in the 1800's. We saw how Lye Soap was made, with a live demonstration! Emily and Jason ground corn and made candles. The kids had a lot of fun and maybe even learned something in the process.

It takes concentration to grind corn, you know.
Emily doing some wash--the old fashioned way

Now to dry it :)

Grandpa Visiting

My dad came up for a short visit this weekend. My cousin, who lives nearby, retired from the Air Force on Friday. So... made a good reason to spend time with family. It sure was a busy weekend. He got into town on Thursday-- Emily had soccer practice and he was able to see a little of that and then went to the dinner for the family that was in town for the retirement. Friday morning we saw the retirement, then off to Emily's Halloween Party at school. Saturday morning Emily had a soccer game in the morning and then the Halloween/Birthday party in the evening. Sunday, we said Goodbye to Grandpa and went to a couple of parties. Busy weekend to say the least!
