Halloween

Jason was Bumblebee from the Transformers

To finish out this very busy week, we went to a neighbor's house for a Halloween/Birthday Party. The kids had a blast playing with their friends from the neighborhood and then Trick Or Treating. As usual, they have more candy than they need to eat for a year!

School Halloween Party

Emily's classroom had a Halloween Party this year with crafts and games. The game in the photo is one where the kids had to make a "mummy" out of their partner with toilet paper. Turns out with this game, it helps to buy more expensive toilet paper that won't rip so easily. They had fun, but got pretty frustrated when the paper tore and they had to start over.

Fun Run

Emily's school did another Fun Run this year as a fundraiser. She was able to run 33 laps around their modified track! She did great! The best part was I think she actually did have FUN doing it:) Thank you to those who pledged for her. The money raised will go to improve their cafeteria.

Painting Pumpkins

This year I decided to let the kids do their own pumpkins, which meant not carving them :) I got out the washable kid paints and let them do whatever they wanted with their pumpkin. They had a lot of fun doing it.

My First 10K

My friend Carrie convinced me to run not only my first race, but a 10K at that. Every year they have a Halloween race in Destin at a local restaurant. There is a 5K, but she had already registered for the 10. Might not have hurt so much had I done a little more training, but I didn't do too bad with only 3 weeks notice that I was doing the race. We finished 6.2 miles in 1 hour and 7 minutes. I am still a little sore, but had a good time for the most part.

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

We decided since Halloween was on Saturday that we should probably go to the "pumpkin patch" and pick out a pumpkin. The kids each found their perfect pumpkin and off we went.

Emily decided to pose in the Pumpkin Carriage, I think she thought she was Cinderella :)

Mini Me Soccer

Jason has started the soccer program at the YMCA called Mini Me Soccer. It is a new program here that allows kids 2-5 to play soccer. The city league cutoff is 5. So this gives the younger kids the opportunity to work on the basic soccer skills once a week. They have made it a drill based program with no match play until the "closing ceremonies" in December! He really likes it so far. I will have to take more pictures next time. So cute seeing all the little ones with shin guards on :)

Jason's field trip to the Pumpkin patch

Jason an his class took a trip to the pumpkin patch the other day. He always has a great time there. They are read a story, they do a craft and then get to pick a small pumpkin to take home! Great fun for any 4 year old.

More Soccer

Emily's soccer season is nearly over. So, I thought I should get some more photos of her playing. The team is really starting to get some of the concepts. Our last regular season game is on Oct. 31! Then comes tournament play.

Trying on Halloween costumes

The kids wanted to try on their Halloween costumes a little early. Couldn't have them not work out on the big day, right?
Sorry, I guess I should tell you what they are. Oops! Jason is Bumblebee from the Transformers (had to get the plasma cannon according to Daddy). Emily is a High School Musical Cheerleader. She wanted to be a cheerleader and saw this costume had an E on it and so it must stand for Emily, right? ;)
